Hang He's Research Group and Its Collaborators Reveal the Contribution of Introgression from Xian/Indica to the Genetic Improvement of Geng/Japonica Rice

On April 13, 2022, the research groups of Longzhi Han from the Institute of Crop Science, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, and Hang He from the Peking University Institute of Advanced Agricultural Sciences published a research paper in Plant Communications entitled "Genomic insights on the contribution of introgressions from Xian/indica to the genetic improvement of Geng/japonica rice cultivars". This research systematically elucidates the evolution patterns and improvement history of China's Geng/Japonica rice cultivars, and reveals at the genomic level the contribution of introgression from Xian/Indica to the trait improvement of Geng/Japonica rice, offering perspectives for future genomic breeding of rice.
