On April 27, 2023, the research group led by Shisheng Chen from the Peking University Institute of Advanced Agricultural Sciences and their collaborators published a research paper in Theoretical and Applied Genetics titled "High-resolution mapping of SrTm4, a recessive resistance gene to wheat stem rust" (https://doi.org/10.1007/s00122-023-04369-z). The study fine-mapped the recessive gene SrTm4, responsible for protecting the diploid monocotyledonous wheat species (Triticum monococcum) against stem rust, to a 754kb region on the chromosome 2AmL. In addition to this, the research also identified potential candidate genes.
