Recently, the team led by Shisheng Chen from the Peking University Institute of Advanced Agricultural Sciences published a research paper online in The Crop Journal entitled "High-resolution genetic mapping and identification of candidate genes for the wheat stem rust resistance gene Sr8155B1". The paper precisely identifies the stem rust resistance gene Sr8155B1, derived from tetraploid durum wheat (T. durum), and analyzes the potential candidate genes. The study broadens the diversity of stem rust resistance genes and provides a new resistance source for wheat disease-resistant breeding.
