On the 30th of October, 2023, a team from the Peking University Institute of Advanced Agricultural Sciences, led by academician Xing Wang Deng and professor Hang He, published a research paper in Nature Plants entitled "Time series single-cell transcriptional atlases reveal cell fate differentiation driven by light in Arabidopsis seedlings". For the first time, they captured the dynamic expression of genes during the light-induced transition at the individual cellular level in plants. The study provided an incisive analysis on the modus operandi of the light signal control network during the developmental process of a variety of cells, including the epidermis, vascular tissues, and cortex.
