Research Objectives
The genome editing technology represented by CRISPR/Cas9 can be used to edit DNA sequences in the genome, and it has been widely used in genome research, biomedicinedevelopment and plant genetic improvement. However, genome editing tools used in plants still have their limitations including poor editing efficiency, delivery problem and the commercial limitation of the transgene in the transgenic plants, which restrict plant breeding and commercial use. Therefore, our research involves:
(1) Development of novel efficient genome editors
(2) Development of novel delivery vectors for genome editors
(3) Improvement of strategies used for efficient transgene-free genome editing
