On the 27th of January, the academic annual meeting of the Peking University Institute of Advanced Agricultural Sciences / the Shandong Laboratory of Advanced Agricultural Sciences in Weifang was held. Xing Wang Deng, Director of the Peking University Institute of Advanced Agricultural Sciences and Director of the Shandong Laboratory of Advanced Agricultural Sciences in Weifang, delivered both the opening remarks and the concluding speech.

Xing Wang Deng asserted: "In 2023, the Peking University Institute of Advanced Agricultural Sciences / the Shandong Laboratory of Advanced Agricultural Sciences in Weifang achieved distinguished accomplishments in aspects of theoretical research, breeding, and talent training. We engaged in our research undistractedly, communicated closely, and collaborated intensively. This achievement would not have been possible without the support from governments at all levels, or without the diligent efforts of all research personnel. As research institutions, our mission is to conduct research, encompassing fundamental theory, applied basics, cutting-edge technology, and the development of products that benefit society directly. We ought to shoulder our mission in research, to intensify our drive in tackling key research problems in the coming years, and to ramp up the effectiveness of research funding, striving for prime research outcomes. Let's endeavor to make even more significant contributions to the swift construction of an agricultural powerhouse!
