On the 8th of March, Haisheng Sun, Party Committee Secretary and Director of the Provincial Department of Science and Technology; Jun Pan, Party Committee Member and Deputy Director of the Provincial Department of Science and Technology; and Feng Liu, Party Committee Member, Secretary, and Dean of the Provincial Institute of Innovation Development, visited Shandong Laboratory of Advanced Agricultural Sciences at Weifang / Peking University Institute of Advanced Agricultural Sciences.

The delegation visited exhibition Hall, the Electron Microscope Platform, the B2 Laboratory, and the Boya Corridor during the site tour.

 

 

During the conference session, Xing Wang Deng, the Director of Shandong Laboratory for Advanced Agricultural Sciences in Weifang and the Director of the Peking University Institute of Advanced Agricultural Sciences, delivered a comprehensive presentation on the growth and outcomes of the Provincial Laboratory/Research Institute. This exposition focused on the areas such as research team development, scientific innovation, research accomplishments, and social services.

Haisheng Sun fully endorsed the achievements the Provincial Laboratory/Research Institute have garnered in their innovative development. He articulated that both the Provincial Department of Science and Technology and Weifang Municipal will diligently provide support to the Laboratory/Research Institute to enable scientists engaging in their research without distraction. He expressed his hope that the laboratory/Institute, upholding the principles of openness, sharing, and collaboration, will continually deepen domestic and international scientific collaboration and exchange, constantly enhance agricultural scientific innovative capabilities and standards, and make a greater contribution to the nationwide development of modern agriculture.

The event was accompanied by Bo Di, the Deputy Mayor of Weifang, Zhongguo Zhao, Party Committee Secretary and Director of Weifang Municipal Bureau of Science and Technology, and Longjiang Zhang, Party Work Committee Secretary and Director of the Management Committee of Xiashan District. The event was attended by key leaders and representatives including Hongjun Zhao, Xingping Zhang, Dingding Su, and PI’s.
