The Institute campus occupies an expansive area of 300 mu (20ht), with completed construction of facilities covering 71,000 square meters. These comprise of a research building, a reception center, a conference center, a dining hall, houses and apartments for experts, residences for faculty and students, capable of housing 500 individuals for research and education activities. It is equipped with 4000 units (sets) of state-of-the-art equipment, such as a whole set of cryo-electron microscopes, 7 units of mass spectrometry, high capacity super computer and confocal microscopes. The Institute has 5,000 square meters environmental controlled greenhouses, 61 phytotrons and over 100 growth chambers on campus, approximately 13ht high fenced field plots for transgenic plant testing and multiplication, and 44ht of open field for breeding nurseries nearby. The Institute also has 24ht of winter breeding nursery and 3 ht of plastic greenhouses in Hainan Island.

With the support of the Weifang Municipal Government and the Xiashan District Management Committee, an additional 20,000 square meters of building complex have been launched serving as office, research, and accommodation spaces. Nearly 30ht of agricultural land connecting to the Institute campus has also been acquired for research purposes.
